*Non-Canadian residents under 18 years of age may fish without a licence if accompanied by a person who has a valid Outdoors Card and fishing licence tag. Any fish kept are part of the catch and possession limit of the person who holds the licence. As another option, non-Canadian residents under 18 years of age may purchase an Outdoors Card and fishing licence tag to have their own limits. Anglers are grouped into 3 categories:
Ontario resident: a person whose primary residence is in Ontario and who has lived in the province for a period of at least 6 consecutive months during the 12 months immediately before applying for a licence. Licence Fees for Ontario residents.
Canadian resident: a person whose primary residence is any part of Canada other than Ontario and has lived in Canada for a period of at least 6 consecutive months during the 12 months immediately before applying for a licence. Licence fees for Canadian residents
Non-Canadian resident: an individual who is neither an Ontario resident nor a Canadian resident. Licence fees for non-Canadian residents.
Sport Fishing Licence Tag is for anglers who want full catch and possession fishing privileges. Conservation Fishing Licence Tag is a reduced catch and possession limit licence tag that is ideal for anglers who want to live-release the majority of fish caught.
